It's the final countdown!
Only 3 days to the Mens' Walk and 9 days to the Ladies' Walk. Please come and support the pilgrims and the teams by attending the walk events. I am looking forward to seeing you there! This newsletter is quite long but please read it to the end.
Walk Events - Important Information:
Mens' Walk #75 - 1- 4 April
Ladies' Walk #76 - 7-10 April (Wednesday to Saturday)
1. Thursday, 1 April - Sponsors' hour starts at 17:00 with tea and coffee outside the dining room. Please bring your service book, wear your name tag but not your cross and lanyard. There is a change to the way we are going to do the "send off". At 18:10 the lay director will read the names of the pilgrims and the conf. room team. The community will line up towards the dining room and sing them into the dining room with the song "This is the day of the Lord". The community will then go to the chapel for sponsors' hour and will not sing pilgrims into the conference room afterwards.
2. Saturday, 3 April- Cross dedication and Candlelight. Please arrive between 19:00 and 19:20 - but not earlier than 19:00 - and go directly to the chapel. Please bring your service book and a candle, wear your name tag but not your cross and lanyard.
3. Community Feast after candlelight. The venue is the staff room which is just to the right of the fountain at the entrance of the school. Bring a plate of eats and a cooldrink and come and enjoy the evening with the Emmaus family.
4. Sunday, 4 April - closing ceremony. Please arrive between 14:30 - 14:55 and go to the dining room. Wear your name tag and your cross and remember your service book. Dress brightly, wear your scarves and come and share in the experiences of the pilgrims.
Ladies' Walk #76 Events:
All the information above applies, but please note that walk starts on Wednesday:
1. Sponsors' Hour is on Wednesday 7 April
2. Cross dedication, Candlelight and Community Feast is on Friday 9 April.
3. Closing Ceremony is on Saturday 10 April
