Newsletter: February 2010
Even though we have had our December rest and family time, some of us are finding ourselves in exactly the same situation and/or position as before the rest. Can you identify with this? Have you also been running around trying to make ends meet? Some of you are running more than others, some are more stressed than others, but we are all in the same boat.
Fortunately we don't have to stay in that boat - - we serve a faithful and loving God whose mercies are new every morning. He will strengthen us and help us to cope with whatever situations we find ourselves in.Gathering - 26 February : Lyttelton Oos NGThis will be our first gathering for the year and I am looking forward to seeing you there. Please make every effort to be there and come and share in an evening of fellowship. The directions to the church are at the bottom of this newsletter.Important reminders:
- Africa South needs the outlines for the book that will be published by the Upper Room Ministries entitled "Here I am Lord" - please see details in the first newsletter dated 30 January 2010. Please let me have your outlines by Wednesday 24 February 2010. Email to Annamarie.Wilke@resbank.co.za. Please don't let this opportunity go by of sharing your Emmaus experience with the wider community. If you feel that nudge, please don't ignore it.
- Pilgrims - This is an urgent plea to the community - please send in your sponsorship forms as soon as possible. Emmaus is depending on you.
- April walks - Please continue to pray for the lay directors of the walks, Mike Louw and Judith van Kraayenburg and for the team members. We have had two team formations and I was so touched by the enthusiasm of the team. We have quite a number of first time team members which is great.
I leave you with the following quotation by Leo Buscaglia:"Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around."
